There are 54 holes played after three rounds of the 2026 Johnnie Walker Uganda Golf Open at the par-72 Uganda Golf Club in Kampala.
Zambia’s Dominic Musonda established a 6-stroke lead going into the final 18 holes on Friday, 28th August.
In round three, Musonda tore the course apart, returning 8-under-64 during the bogey-free round littered with 6 birdies, one eagle and 11 par scores.
The Nkana Golf Club member, who was last year’s runner-up in the same championship, opened round three with an eagle on the par-five hole-1. He followed this with two successive birdies on holes 2 and 3.
He parred hole 4, birdied hole 5, recorded pars on holes 6 and 7, registered another birdie on hole 8 and climaxed the front 9 with a par.
At the back 9, Musonda had two birdies on holes 12 and 13 with par scores on the remaining holes for the memorable round.
“I am happy with my performance,” Musonda highlighted. “Playing alongside my countrymate Gilbert Chawale relieved me of the pressure,” he added.
Chalwe, the overnight leader at the halfway mark, played one-under (71) during round three.
Uganda’s Joseph Kasozi, the famous day one leader, played 4-over 75 and chases Musonda by 10 strokes.
Juma Abiti, John Musiimenta, Joseph Cwinya-ai are in the top five positions after 54 holes.
Cwinya-ai, the champion of the Open in Lugazi last year, played 3-under-69 during the third round s now joint 6th on the leaderboard alongside another Zambian, Musamba Kapoma.
Round four and the climax of the amateurs’ championship is on Friday, 28th August 2026 as the golfers mark 72 holes.
