URA head coach Jimmy Kintu is optimistic his side can overcome NEC who they visit at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.

The tax collectors were impressive in the 1-0 defeat to SC Villa and Kintu wants to build on that performance to stop early flyers NEC who saw their perfect run ended in a 1-1 draw away to Mbarara City.

“We had a good game against Villa but unfortunately, we lost the game after failing to convert our chances,” said Kintu.

“Against NEC, it will be difficult because they are one of the best teams in the league but we are capable of beating anyone and we shall go there to try and win,” he added.

His opposite number Badru Kaddu is aware of the threat posed by the four-time champions

“URA FC is a good team but we are prepared to play against them and we hope to put up a good show and the boys’ attitude exhibited is very okay ahead of the game.”

Richard Basangwa returns to the team after missing the trip to Kamwenge but the ‘Die Hards’ miss out on left back Hakim Wandera (U20) duties alongside Ibrahim Musa (ACL) and Fahad Bayo (Muscle injury).

Tuesday’s encounter will be the seventh meeting between NEC FC and URA FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

The Diehards have enjoyed the better record in the fixture, winning three of the previous meetings, drawing two and suffering just one defeat.

Last season, the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg before Nec FC secured a 1-0 victory in the return fixture at Lugogo.

In other matches on Tuesday, SC Villa host league debutants Kigezi Home Boyz while Blacks Power visit BUL at Njeru in the top of the table clash.
