Management of Lugazi Football Club announced the acquisition of four players.
The announcement came at the advent of the international break where the club continues its rebuild prior to match day five.
Promising flying left back Alex Akankwasa is among the latest signings.
Akankwasa has been featuring at Kabula Ssaza in the Buganda Masaza Cup as well as Shan Davids in the Hamz Cup, having formerly played at the URA junior team before he was promoted to the senior team.
He joins the trio of Rashid Abdulahi Kawawa, Francis Onekalit and John Kokas Alou.
Kawawa was formerly at NEC, Onekalit served at Sports Club Villa and Alou has been at Entebbe UPPC Football Club.

Prior to the start of the season, Lugazi Football Club also signed a couple of players to include Dickson Mataama, Livingstone Mulondo, Emmanuel Munoobi, Cromwell Rwothomio, Musa Ssali and Frank Katongole among others.
Lugazi Football Club is supported by Kawuulu Foundation, Lugazi Secondary School, Electronic Network Services and Mafro Sports.
Lugazi has so far had a mixed return of results since the 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League kicked off in late August 2026.
The leaders opened up with a 2-1 home victory over newcomers Kigezi Home Boyz.
They then lost 1-3 to NEC at the MTN Omondi Lugogo, overcame Entebbe UPPC 1-0 at Hamz stadium and slipped 0-2 to Police at the Lugazi stadium in Najjembe.
After the international break, Lugazi returns to action on match day five with an away contest against Maroons at the Muteesa II Wankulukuku stadium on 7th October 2026.
Five days later, Lugazi will host BUL on 13th October 2026 at the Lugazi Stadium, Najjembe in a clash where head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko will be facing his former pay masters.
