Denis Onyango is grateful to the government for the construction of Hoima City stadium.
The Uganda Cranes captain is line to make history when he leads the national team against Libya on Tuesday in the first ever international match at the stadium.
Speaking to the media, Onyango who expressed the team’s readiness to face the Mediterranean Knights stated; “It is my first time here and I am very impressed with the work done by government in regards to setting up this magnificent stadium.”
On the match, Onyango said; “We travelled well despite some delays but we can’t use that as an excuse because even our opponents faced the same.
“We want to win and as players, we are set and ready to give everything for three points.”
Despite already being qualified as co-hosts alongside Kenya and Tanzania, Onyango and company want to perform well and win all matches.
