URA FC’s Matchday Six encounter against Blacks Power FC has been postponed after the National Council of Sports (NCS) cancelled the latter’s agreement to use Hoima City Stadium as their home ground.

The match was scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, but the Uganda Premier League (UPL) Secretariat confirmed that it would not go ahead as planned.

The NCS has reserved Hoima City Stadium exclusively for international matches, leaving Blacks Power without a home venue for the first round of the 2026/27 season.

The decision followed the cancellation of the club’s Memorandum of Understanding to use the facility.

Blacks Power are now seeking an alternative home ground, with details expected to be communicated in due course. The UPL Secretariat will announce a new date and venue for the fixture.

For URA, the postponement delays their attempt to recover from a difficult start to the season.

The Tax Collectors have collected four points from five matches and sit 15th in the 16-team standings under head coach Jimmy Kintu.

URA opened their campaign with a 2-1 away victory over Maroons at Muteesa II Stadium but have since struggled for results.

They lost 1-0 to SC Villa, suffered a 4-1 defeat to NEC and fell 1-0 to KCCA at Hamz Stadium on Independence Day.

A goalless draw against Entebbe UPPC in their latest outing ended a run of three consecutive defeats.

After five matches, URA have one win, one draw and three losses. They have scored three goals and conceded seven, leaving them with a goal difference of minus four.

The postponement gives Kintu more time to prepare his side as they await confirmation of the rescheduled fixture.

Blacks Power have also lost momentum after a promising start to their return to the top flight.

The newly promoted side won their first three matches, beating Ntugasaze and Police 1-0 before defeating Maroons 2-1 away.

However, defeats to BUL (2-1), Vipers (4-0) and Mbarara City (2-1) have halted their progress.

After six matches, Blacks Power have nine points from three wins and three losses. They have scored six goals and conceded nine, leaving them seventh in the standings with a goal difference of minus three.

Their immediate task is to find a new home venue after the NCS decision disrupted their fixture schedule.

Meanwhile, Kitara FC’s Matchday Seven encounter against Ntugasaze has also been postponed because of the Royals’ continental commitments.

Kitara are set to travel to Cairo, Egypt, for the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie against Al Ahly.

The postponement will allow Kitara to focus on their continental assignment, with revised arrangements for the league match expected to be announced later.
