MEHTA PREMIER LEAGUE
JACC vs. Wanderers – Jinja
It was meant to be one of the season openers but was called off due to unavoidable reasons. Wanderers will finally make it to Jinja SS oval for their first Mehta Premier League T20 double header with hosts JACC today.
“We are ready this time round,” Wanderers skipper Mary Nanderenga told Kawowo Sports. And having lost the 50-over league by eight wickets to Charity, Wanderers seek a perfect onset. “There is nothing we are taking for granted. We respect JACC but the focus is on the ultimate prize,”
But owing to the busy schedules of most team players, Nanderenga will lead only 11 other players as they seek to put up a good start.
“The biggest part of my team are students with tight schedule but we’ll work around it.” Wanderers will miss Kenyan duo Sarah Bhakita and Margaret Banja who are back home preparing for their tour to Uganda from August 26 – September 2.
