Sports Club Victoria University manager Ivan Zoric believes Lawrence Kasadha is worthy of his first call up to the Uganda Cranes squad considering he is a prospect for the future.

Zoric was speaking at the clubs official website after the 19-year-old left joined fellow SCVU players Dennis Iguma and Ali Kimera in the Cranes 23 man squad that starts preparations for the 2013

AFCON qualifier against Zambia. “Kasadha is a young player and a great talent,” Zoric told their official website.

“But, he must know that talent is only 3%; 97% is hard work. We sure contribute little but also a lot of merit has to go to his previous coaches and clubs that helped in his development.”

Zoric says that inviting junior players to the national side is one way football will grow in Uganda like the one it has done in other places.

“I think this is a normal thing that time to time youth layers are called up to work with the national team. They are the future of this country. Williamson (Cranes Head coach) can have the chance to see the level of young players and to evaluate them.” He added

“These young players are able to become decent substitutes and bring good competition to seniors players.

Young players will always have my full support. For me, defeat is not more important than to give a chance to one, two or more young and prospective players.”
