Muhumuza is a CAF “B” certified coach who is also a two time winner of the prestigious Uganda Cup as a player as an offensive midfielder.
During his playing spell, he shone at Makerere University, Sports Club Villa and Victors Sports Club before retirement.
He commenced his coaching journey at St Leo’s Kyogebe Secondary School and was involved with the Tooro Province Football team before serving at URA Football Club.
He also handled the Uganda Cranes as a deputy coach on interim basis during an international window.
At Vipers Sports Club, he beefs up the technical docket that also has Charles Livingstone Mbabazi (head coach), Richard Wasswa (first assistant coach), Baker Kasule (trainer) and Ali Kimera (Goalkeeping coach).
With Mbabazi having been away from club duties for a fortnight (due to compassionate reasons), Muhumuza comes to the Venoms on a timely note, at the final bend of the season.
The Makerere University graduate brings class and sanity to the dressing room that needs more morale and belief at the time when most needed.
Muhumuza is expected to commence official duties on Sunday, 7th April 2024.
Vipers is three points shy from current UPL table leaders Kitara (44 points). Kitara has played 23 matches to Vipers’ 21.
Kitara is due to host Vipers in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarter final duel in Masindi.
