2nd Tennis Explosion:

Week 2 Action : 29th November 2013

David Oringa  Vs Henry Muyanja – 4 : 30 p.m

Week 3 (6th December): Kalungi Jingo Vs Edward Odonceng

World’s ranked 1768th tennis player, David Oringa is set to battle Henry Muyanja in week 2 action of the Friday Tennis Explosive at Lugogo Center Courts this Friday at the Lugogo Center Courts in Kampala.

This is expected to be a thrilling battle of the titans as both players are currently in fine shape.

Oringa has played some of the world’s finest tennis players like Swedish player William Edin (who he beat 6-4 6-2), Italian Riccardo Sinicropi, Rwandan Dieudonne Habiyambere among many others.

“We rescheduled Oringa’s opponent because we wish the real competition to be the expected explosion. The most ranked players have to face off first as the event picks up momentum”, Center Courts manager, Arthur Segawa explained to Kawowo Sports in an exclusive interview.

The first tennis explosive took place last Friday with Otiti beating Dean Kibirige. Moses Otiti took a grueling 2 hours  to dispatch Dean Kibirige 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1 in the inaugural Tennis Explosion match played at the Lugogo Center Courts on Friday.

About the Tennis Explosion:

The idea of the tennis explosion is a brain child of the inaugural winner himself (Moses Otiti) having developed the a positive argument with Robert Buyinza, another tennis player.

The tourney is played every Friday between two players and the winner is rewarded instantly with Ug. shs 100,000 and a crate of beer.

A lump sum of Ug. Shs 15M is earmarked for this entire budding project meant to boost the competitiveness of tennis among the players.

The money will facilitate the winners’ prizes (cash of 100,000/= every week and a beer crate), refreshments for players, first aid kit, Equipment (balls and nets), Umpires, Ball boys and other officials.

“There will be ultimate entertainment with lots of drinks and eats, so the center court will be the place to be every Friday”, Segawa said.
