Coming off a 19 -11 loss to top rivals DMark Kobs at Legends rugby grounds last weekend, MTN Heathens ought to have looked fierce, challenged and ready to boss Saturday’s game against Ezee Money Rhinos at Kyadondo.

However, this was not the case. Suprisingly, Ezee Money Rhinos had lots of statements to make. Nile Special man of the match, John Musoke of Ezee Money Rhinos did not disappoint as he played key role to the visitors’ attempt to steal the thunder.

Rhinos played ‘catch me if you can’ opening up the first half with a center post David Kakuba try, succeeded by a Byron Atubikire conversion.

Quickly, MTN Heathens side seemed to have remembered how their 4 year home unbeaten record was at stake, responding to chalk up 10 points before half time.

The visitors (Rhinos) later had a clear opportunity to take the lead but missed two back-to-back penalties. Consequently, James Musitwa’s penalty finally leveled the score at 10-10 for Ezee Money Rhinos.

Immediately, MTN Heathens scored the last try of the game, followed by a good Benon Kizza conversion. MTN Heathens emerged victorious beating Ezee Money Rhinos 17-10.

Heathens now break off for the festive season having lost only once(to DMark Kobs)out of 7 games played.

Ezee Money Rhinos have now lost three consecutive games to DMark Kobs, Toyota Buffaloes and now MTN Heathens, winning the first four. Rhinos’ John Musoke has been crowned Man of the match twice against Mongers and against Heathens.

Other games played had Mutoni warriors condemning Lira Bulls to a 7th consutive loss, 53-7, while Sadolin Mongers surprisingly thrashed G4S Pirates 27-08 at Entebbe earning their 2nd rugby league victory out of 7 this season.
