The countdown to the 2026 Kateregga Memorial schools and institutions Table Tennis Open is progressive as the tournament smashes off on Friday, 27th February at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala city.

The Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) has been boosted by a sponsorship of Ug.Shs 5,000,000 from School Pay which is part of the Fincom Technologies family cluster.

School Pay is happy to join UTTA to support the Kateregga Memorial Schools and Institutions Open. We treasure supporting schools as we are gearing towards a wholestic building of a child through sports. Our relationship with UTTA started last year and we look forward building a long lasting partnership.

This is the second time that School Pay joins hands with UTTA after extending support during the Uganda Open championship last year.

“We are growing the sport of Table Tennis and the Kateregga schools, Institutions tournament is part of the tournaments that we believe helps to unearth fresh talents. The tournament returns after a long time of 10 years” Cyrus Mark Muwanga, the president of UTTA who was flanked by the General Secretary Joseph Rukundo remarked.

The development comes after Legacy Productions Limited unveiled a Ug.Shs 40,000,000 sponsorship in kind for the services at this three day championship.

Legacy Productions Limited will help improve the Audio, Visual, Events management, staging & structural, power generation, lighting and on-line broadcasting services at the championship, to give the tournament a worthy international appeal and audience.

The tournament proper serves off on Friday, 27th February through to Sunday, 1st March 2026 with competition expected in primary schools, secondary and universities alike.

The outstanding players and teams will be rewarded with certificates, plaques and trophies.

Secondary schools will use this championship to prepare their players and teams ahead of the 2026 USSSA Ball Games two.
