SC Villa must beat Police at Kiira Road Police Arena or else relinquish their title pursuit.
The two sides face off on Tuesday with either coming on the back of disappointing results.
Villa were held to a frustrating draw by rivals Express at Kadiba while Police lost 2-1 to KCCA at Lugogo.
On the official website, Villa have 38 points, a whopping six behind leaders Vipers and need to win to cut the lead to three points as the Venoms don’t play until Wednesday at Bombo versus UPDF.
Villa could have striker Charles Lwanga back in the squad after he sat out the Saturday game and he offers a different option to both Frank Ssebuufu and Andrew Otim.
The Jogoos have not lost to Police since a 2-1 defeat in 2014 with the record champions claiming only five wins in that sequence as most matches are drawn.
They won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Kadiba coming from a goal down to notch a late winner.
Elsewhere on Tuesday NEC host resilient Entebbe UPPC at Lugogo, BUL visit Buhimba at Royal Park Butema in Hoima, Mbarara City host Kitara in the Western Derby while Calvary visit Maroons at Midigo.
