The FIFA World Cup 2026 is just a matter of days away and the anticipation continues to grow ahead of the global football extravaganza.

With the opening ceremony slated for Thursday, 11th June in Mexico, FIFA has confirmed the entertaining cast that will feature on the grand stage.

Key among those are two African musicians; Rema and Tyla. They will be joined by other global music icons like Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA among others.

Those who will take the stage in a powerful performance to bring the sound of the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album to life include Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná and Tyla.

The celebrations will then continue to the other host nations with the United States hosting their own opening ceremony, a day later.

For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, three opening ceremonies across Canada, Mexico and the United States will unite the continent in one shared global celebration. Together, they will bring the sound of the FIFA World Cup 2026 to life for a global audience, delivering a high-energy spectacle that reflects the scale, ambition and cultural power of the tournament itself.

Across time zones and borders, the celebrations are united by one central idea: a shared heartbeat. It is the rhythm of the game, the energy of the players and the passion of millions of fans experiencing the FIFA World Cup together in stadiums and around the world.

“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas, highlighting the nation’s rich influence on music, entertainment and pop culture, while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”

“The FIFA World Cup is a moment the world shares, and that begins with how we open it,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. “Starting with Mexico City and continuing the next days with Toronto and Los Angeles, these ceremonies will bring together music, culture and football in a way that reflects both the individuality of each nation and the unity that defines this tournament. It is a powerful way to begin a truly global celebration.” He added.

It should be noted that Mexico will face South Africa in the opening match of the FIFA World Cup 2026, a tournament that will feature a record 104 matches across 16 Host Cities, beginning on Thursday, 11 June in Mexico City and culminating in the final on Sunday, 19 July at New York New Jersey Stadium.
