- Girls’ Schools Cricket Week Final
- Light SS 65/5 beat Olila High School 62/8 by 5 wickets

Light SS made sure there was no deja vu from 2025 after clinching their second Girls’ Schools Cricket Week title.
Light SS defeated their rivals from the same region, Olila High School, by five wickets.
Olila High won the toss and elected to bat first, but failed to negotiate the Light SS bowling juggernaut. Olila were relying on their anchor player, Malisa Ariokot (22), who tried to hold things together, but once they got rid of her, the writing was on the wall.
Light SS, led by Ritah Ario (3/11), bundled out the defending champions for only 65/8 in their 20 overs.
In the run chase, Olila High reduced Light SS to 7/2, but Susan Akidi (14) and Ruth Kulume (15) steadied the ship, and even if they took time, they got over the line inside 19 overs to win their second title.
Both sides reached the final without dropping a game, but Light SS avenged the 2025 loss to add to their 2024 title.
Sonia Nampeera from St John’s SS Mukono won the tournament MVP award, Malisa Ariokot won the Best Batter award, Rita Ario (Light SS) won the Best Bowler award, and Mary Nabuma (Soroti SS) won the Best Fielder award.
The tournament, which has been held in Gulu for the last two years, will move to Masaka for the 2027 edition.
The best 25 players have been selected for a camp in Jinja, which will be used to select the U-19 team to represent Uganda at the World Cup Qualifiers in September in Tanzania.
