Abdul Rwatubyaye’s header four minutes from the break couldn’t guarantee Rwanda victory over Cameroon in a build-up match to the African Nations Championship (CHAN) slated to run from January 16 to February 7 in the East African Country.

The friendly match played at the Rubavu-based Umuganda Stadium in Gisenyi on Wednesday saw Cameroon’s Moumi Ngamalou come off the bench to nod home the equalizer in the 54 minute.

Cameroon will play Uganda next in their last friendly on January 13 at the Njeru Technical Centre while the Johnny McKinstry side have another tie against DR Congo lined up on January 10.

On the same date, Uganda who are pooled in Group D alongside Mali, Zambia and Zimbabwe will play against Gobon in another build-up at the Jinja based Astro-turf surface.

Rwanda are pooled in Group A alongside Ivory Coast, Morocco, Gabon while Cameroon are in Pool B together with DRC, Ethiopia and Angola

Pool C has 2011 winners Tunisia together with Guinea, Niger and the Sunday Oliseh coached Nigeria.
