A month to AFCON 2017 group J qualifier against Seychelles, the Walia Ibex head coach Gebremethin Haile has named a provisional squad of 28 players for the September affair.
Only three foreign based players make the grade.
These are; Walid Ata from Ostersend (Sweden), Bidvest striker Getaneh Kebede and Egyptian based midfielder Shimeles Bekele who plays at Petrojet football club
The rest of the crop are home based.
Ethiopia is seated second in Group “J” with eight points.
They still have a slim chance of making it to Gabon as one of best second-placed teams.
The team heads to camp on Monday next week (1st August 2016) at Hawassa International Stadium in Hawassa City, the new venue for the match that was previously scheduled for Addis Ababa Stadium.
The squad is largely home-based with just two foreign based players.
