CAF Confederation Cup (Final)
Return Leg:
- Super Sport 0-0 TP Mazembe (Agg: 1-2)

Democratic Republic of Congo club TP Mazembe successfully defended the CAF Confederation cup title on Saturday, 25 November 2017 despite finishing the game with 10 players.
A barren draw is all with needed against South Africa’s Super Sport following a well contested return leg of the finals played on a wet Lucas Moripe Stadium turf in Pretoria, Atteridgeville.
The ‘Les Corbeaux’ had won the first leg 2-1 in Lubumbashi and needed any draw result or clear cut victory to smile once again.
Indeed they achieved exactly that with the goal-less stalemate.
Zambian-import Nathan Sankala tested the hosts as early as the 6th minute when he laid a teasing ball for country-mate and captain, Rainford Kalaba but the latter’s shot went over the bar.
Kalaba had a chance to give Mazembe the lead but missed from close range a few moments later.
The Tshwane team had an attempt headed in by Tefu Mashamaite, but he was correctly ruled off-side on nearly the opening half an hour of action.

Mazembe’s defender Kabaso Chongo was sent off for second booking inside the last 10 minutes of the game.
Super Sports failed to capitalize on that numerical advantage for the time being.
Meanwhile, their own Thuso Phala also got sin-binned with two minutes left on the clock as either sides finished with a man less.
TP Mazembe pocketed $ 1,250,000 as Supersport was rewarded with $ 625,000.
The DR Congo club won their third continental trophy in as many years.
