Bogere to face Rivera as he defends NABO lightweight title

The hottest boxing property in 135 pound division Shariff “The Lion Warrior” Bogere, faces off with tough cookie Mexican Sergio Rivera as he moves up the division to in a 140 pound Junior Welterweight 10 round at the Scottrade Center, Saint Louis, Missouri on tomorrow.

The undefeated stylish pugilist who has wowed boxing pundits with his punching style and precision in the mecca of world boxing Las Vegas, Nevada, which is also where he is based comes up against 30 year Rivera, who is coming

off a three fighting losing streak. His record stands at 25 wins 8 loses 2 draws and 16 within the distance.

Bogere goes into the fight on a six fight winning run and has a record 21 wins and 13 within the distance. His last fight was against Dominican fighter Francesco Contreras, whom he knocked out in the third round with a controversial rabbit punch to retain his NABO lightweight belt.

A win for him in this fight will guarantee him a shot at the WBO lightweight title or the junior welterweight in  probably in summer. He will be chasing to become Uganda’s sixth world champion after John “The Beast” Mugabi,Ayub Kalule,Cornelius Boza Edwards, Kassim “The Dream” Ouma and Jackson “Action” Asiku.
