Villa fans in a drive to raise 30 million for club

Uganda’s most successful club SC Villa are in a drive to raise 30 million shillings for the club in six months according to their head of marketing and fans coordinator Dennis Mbidde.

“We have embarked on a country wide tour to mobilize and rally the club fans back into the stadium and to fundraise for operational costs which are food and transport

amount to 400,000 per day making it 9,600,000 per month,” Mbidde said in a written statement to Kawowo sports. “Our aim is to have a target of funding half of this cost which is 4,500,000 every time we congregate.”

This campaign will see the villa fans congregating every first Saturday of the month and will be a country wide tour in the various villa set up branches, like Owino, Jinja, Bweyogere, Kiboga, Kamuli, Kiseka Market, Gaba, Natete, Hoima, Masindi, Mbarara, Bombo.

It will be kicked off at Villa Park this Saturday 10.00am. Entrance fee is 20,000 shillings per person and an extra 10,000/= will get you a membership card.

The club’s fans have given themselves a six month period to execute this where they plan to raise 30 million shillings.

This campaign will also set pace for the renewal of membership cards and registering new fans. The categories of membership have also been revised due to inflation and affordability, from the 20,000 last year for the ordinary to 30,000, a new categories have been created at 70,000, 140,000, 280,000.

The 500,000 and 1,000,000 category have remained and a new category which allows for the person to be a share holder in the club has been created at 6,000,000/=
