Former Springboks coach Peter De Villiers has been handed the task to take charge of the Elgon Warriors when Uganda and Kenya host the England counties next month. De Villiers only 54 years of age was in charge of South Africa when they failed to defend the World Cup in New Zealand last year.
He is expected to train and fine tune the best rugby players in the region before they take on their English counterparts. Elgon Warriors is a Kenya-Uganda Combined side that will take on a joint side got from the countries second tier league.
De Villiers was part of the backroom staff when the African country won their second World Cup in 2007. He has coached South Africa’s U19 and U21 together with the Emerging Springboks before.
