While world champions, Spain remained top with, Uganda only fell a step to 93rd position in the latest released FIFA football rankings. In the past month, Uganda’s U-20 side walloped fellow Mozambique side 4-0 in Nakivubo stadium before securing a 1-1 draw in Maputo last Saturday, hence booking a date with Ghana’s Black Satelites in the next round of the Africa Youth Championship qualifiers.

Ever since the AFCON ended in February, the rankings have only been putting Uganda in the ditch. Uganda only posted 362 points in the new rankings, in the 22nd position in Africa. But Uganda remains top among all CECAFA states followed by Rwanda who are 105th in the world and Djibouti is with 23 points on the 107th slot in the world.
Cote d’Ivoire is top of Africa with 951 points though the Elephants are 15th in the world. Angolan side, the Palancas Negras who face the Uganda Cranes in June are 78th overall with 440 points. Neighbours Kenya saw their position remain the same  –  remained 34th in Africa and 117th in the World. Tanzania also remain intact, 42nd in Africa and 145th in the World. The same aplies to Rwanda (26th in Africa, 105th in the world)
