For now, Gayaza will remain bottom of the five team league after losing by ten wickets to a determined Tornado at Kyambogo oval yesterday. From the onlookers’ side, Gayaza made a poor decision in choosing to bat after winning the toss. With all their combined efforts, the side poised 31 runs in 22 overs with 13 off 10 from left hand batsman, Lelia Namaganda and 11 bowling extras.
Tornado’s Franklyn Najjumba and new recruit Christine Aryemo picked four wickets apiece, sharing three maidens and suffered eight runs in total. Captain Concy Aweko had a wicket and maiden too in her seven overs. Najjumba later paired with Gloria Adubu to chase the target in four overs only. The former had 14 off 11 and Adubu notched 14 off 13 as both were not out. The game had delayed to start because of a soggy outfield after an early morning downpour.
