Injury Scare for Musa Mudde

Uganda Cranes midfielder Musa Mudde is feared to have sustained a bad injury that may rule him out of next month’s international engagements. The midfield gem was stretchered off in 53rd minute as his Sofapaka side was taking on giants AFC Leopards in the Kenyan Premier League match played at Nyayo stadium this evening. Mudde collided with Leopards midfielder Bernard Mangoli in the 49th minute in the centre of the pack and spent close to two minutes writhing on the ground before being stretchered off the pitch.

He was replaced with Kenyan international Bob Mugalia on the 53rd minute mark. Sofapaka won the game 2-1 to end the first round of KPL at the summit on 32 points. John Baraza netted both goals with Musa Mudde bagging an assist for the first from a cross that Baraza put at the back of the net with a diving header in the 14th minute. Mudde is among the 30-man squad that has been summoned by Cranes coach Bobby Williamson for preparations ahead of crucial month of June that includes ties against Angola, Senegal and Congo Brazaville in World Cup and AFCON qualifiers respectively.
