The Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) Extra General Assembly will take place today at Kati Kati restaurant after court rejected an application by Roger Ddungu for a temporary injunction on the body’s activities.

His worship Justice John Ketirima is his ruling said the applicant didn’t have substantial evidence on his claims.

“There was no evidence to the effect of brutally being handled by armed officers at the UOC offices,” said Ketirima. Ddungu was suspended by his own executive but the general assembly that is convening today will decide his fate as the matter is on the agenda.

But UOC first vice president William Blick revealed to kawowo.com that they will mostly concentrate on the preparations of team Uganda ahead of the July Olympic. The issue of Peninah Kabenge, who is being accused by Ddungu for forging his signature to win an international award, will also be on the agenda.

“We are trying to make sure that we get the positive out of the assembly,” Blick said. It’s not clear if Ddungu will be present for the assembly after failing to turn up for meeting he has been invited to attend in the past. He also missed yesterday’s hearing at the high court.

Kanyeihamba apology

Former Supreme Court judge Prof.  George Kanyeihamba yesterday morning wrote to the UOC disowning Ddungu.

“The evidence we have discovered is that the president and assistant general secretary are not telling us the truth,” Kanyeihamba’s letter read.

“We have discovered even though we were appointed by the president, his side has not been telling us the truth so help us and come up with an accurate report,” he continued.

A plot Blick rubbished and termed as a conspiracy.

“He is trying to trap us but we won’t avail any information to the tribunal because we don’t recognize it,” he said.
