The Kampala Region Chenga Challenge preliminaries in Kampala district in five divisions started with a bang last week. The winners of each region will represent their respective centres in the Kampala Region Chenga Challenge finals on May 26 in which a winner will represent Kampala in the Grand Finale.
KYB emerged winners after beating IAM 4-1 other teams that took part include Old Kampala Jrs and Somali Community which will play in the regional championship on special invitation.
In Kawempe Kayofa Cranes beat Super Stars 2-0 to advance to the next stage other teams from this division that took part include Tropical,Super Heroes,Dream Team,Kasadha,Super Stars,Global Paints and Kazo.
In Nakawa division Maroons A won two games out of two to emerge victorious and will represent Nakawa in the Kampala Region Chenga final. Makindye Cabs will represent their division after beat Young Stars 3-0 other teams that participated include Kampala Junior League,Nsambya Young Stars and Discovery Primary School.
Rubaga will be represented by Kitebi Primary School after it beat Young Express,Bethero School and Lint FC.
According to the local organisers Friends of Football the smartest team was Makindye.
