Bagoole Johnson to replace injured Mudde

Cranes Coach Bobby Williamson has summoned Rwanda based midfield gem Johnson Bagoole to beef up his squad following an ankle injury that has ruled out Sofapaka midfielder Musa Mudde from the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Angola away in Luanda on 3rd June. Bagoole has had an impressive season with Rwandan giants APR FC some thing that has prompted the Cranes technical team to summon him following four years of absence from the national set up.

The former Iganga TC, Express FC and URA FC player was a regular in Coach Laslo Csaba’s side but somehow went down in the pecking order Williamson with the Scot sticking to Mudde and Mawejje as his first choice midfield partnership. With him back in the fold, he’ll have to tussle it out with Hassan Wasswa and Congo based Patrick Ochan for a starting berth along side first choice Mawejje Tonny in central midfield.

Speaking to FUFa Head of Communications Rogers Mulindwa, he confirmed the news and justified the reason for the midfielder’s inclusion in the squad. “We summoned Bagoole to fill the void left by Musa Mudde following his ankle injury that has ruled him out of Angola tie. The same scenario has also meant we shall not have Mike Mutyaba for the game too yet Tony Mawejje will arrive late in camp since his club will release him on 30th of this month. We decided to summon Bagoole to be with the team as early as possible for cohesion”, said Mulindwa.

Mean while, Bobby Williamson is still un decided on whether to summon either Diego Hamis Kiiza (scorer of 12 league goals in Tanzania this season) or Geoffrey Sserunkuma who has had an indifferent season in South Africa despite being the highest scorer for the Cranes in the current generation with 16 goals in 22 caps and or stick to his options already in camp. The Scot boasts of forwards in Brian Umony, Okhuti Ceaser, Ssentongo Robert, Fabian Derrick Kizito and Emma Okwi.
