NILE 226/9 SKLPS 123/10

Nile Cricket club collected a second league win in three games after defeating Shree Kutch Levar Patel Samaj by 232 runs in the National Men’s Cricket league tie at Lugogo oval on Sunday. Nile captain, Martin Ondeko won the toss, elected to bat and his side set 226 for a nine wicket loss in 50 overs. Former national team star, Michael Ndiko hit 56 off 76 and David Musoke added 45 off 82 as Nile aimed for the maximum points.

But the figure set came at a cost as Varsani Bharat picking five wickets for 49 runs in his 10 overs. The second innings saw Nile’s Brian Masaba pick three wickets and Geoffrey Gandi had 6/42 as they restricted SKLPS to 123 in 40.5 overs. “It was always going to be hard for them (SKLPS) to chase the 226 target. We worked hard for the triumph” said Nile captain, Martin Ondeko. Nile moved to 12 points on the log.
