Stern Tornado crash Rounders, move to summit

TORNADO 299/7 ROUNDERS 67/10

National T20 League champions, Tornado cricket club thumped hapless Jinja side, Rounders by 232 runs to move to the Multiple Industries’ Cricket League Division One summit at Kyambogo oval on Sunday. Tornado set 299 for a seven wicket loss in 50 overs.  Australian import, Mitch Horrocks hit his first career century, senior player Benjamin Musoke added 62 and Arthur Kyobe notched 56 off 70.

Rounders’ Narinder Singh had figures of 3 for 25 but all was in shambles. Tornado bowling pair, Raymond Otim (5/11) and captain, Frank Nsubuga (4/8) kept Rounders at bay as they restricted them to 67 runs only with Michael Kintu (25) reaching double digits. Tornado moved to 23 points, at the log summit, on level with Wanderers but on a better net run rate. Horrocks’ century won him the man-of-match honour but it was his side’s fourth win in five games, ever since losing to Charity last month.
