
Uganda Cricket Association chairman Richard Mwami and CEO Justine Ligyalingi will represent the country at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Annual Conference set to be held Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference will run from June 24-28 at the Shangri-La Hotel and close to 150 international and 350 local delegates will take part. It is definitely a feather in the cap for the Malaysian Cricket Association to be entrusted with the task of organizing an international gathering of cricketers representing their respective countries and at the same time hosting the Under 19 Asia Cup 2012.
There will be a total of 150 delegates from all over the World congregating in Kuala Lumpur to attend this global conference which also includes 350 local guests.
All affiliate and associate members of the ICC will be attending the annual conference to put forward issues pertaining to cricket activities in their regions. Beside all the items in the agenda, issues relating to development, finances and funding will be major topics at the Conference.
In conjunction with this event, the organizing committee has planned a series of captivating Malaysian experiences with the hope that the delegates will savour KL’s charm and take back with them wonderful memories of our country.
The Conference Gala Dinner is scheduled on June 27 in the presence of the current President of International Cricket Council, Mr. Sharad Pawar who also serves as the Agricultural Minister of India. We are hopeful that our Honourable Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak will grace the occasion.
Malaysian Cricket Association as host of both the ICC Annual Conference and the Under 19 Asia Cup are hopeful for a bigger cricket initiative in the development and popularity of the game amongst Malaysians.
