Uganda acquires new batting coach

Following an unsuccessful mission at the T20 World Cup qualifiers in UAE in March, Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) has recruited the services of Stephen Ogonji Tikolo as new batting coach. Tikolo, a former Kenyan captain accepted to coach Uganda and his first contract runs until April when Uganda travels to Hamilton in Bermuda for the ICC Division III World Cricket League.

According to UCA CEO Justin Ligyalingi, the former all rounder will also help spinners work on their mental preparedness. Tikolo will also be in charge of franchise side Warriors when the second edition of the East African Premier League and Cup gets underway on August 4.

According to Daily Monitor, Tikolo made three One Day Internationals and 11 First Class centuries. His elder brother Tom and David Tikolo also played for Kenya.
