Wanderers may have started on a low but by the mear look of things, they have a better sight to the Multiple Industries’ Cricket League title. The Dennis Musali-led side defeated title holders Patidar Samaj by four wickets in their 50-over duel at the University Oval in Kyambogo to move seven points clear of Tornado on Sunday.
Patidar, who swept everything last term set 193 runs with Lawrence Ssematimba notching 54 and Akbar Baig stroking 38 as Davis Karashani, the eventual man-of-match winner picking figures of 3/26 and last year’s Africa Division T20 top bowler Deusdedit Muhumuza snared figures of 2/45. Karashani later picked the bat putting 28 on board. Arnold Otwani fired 55 while Hum Kayondo stroked 30 runs as Wanderers chased down the target with four wickets in hand. Roger Mukasa’s 4/11 had tried to hamper Wanderers’ mission.
