Ganzi Mugula, team Uganda skipper at the London Olympics had a dream that he would represent his country at the world’s biggest games.
The dream took him 12 years to fulfill and his patience, hardwork and focus quenched his thirst as he earned a wild card to the XXX Olympiad from international body FINA.
Mugula will today make his way to the Acquatics Centre waters in lane 5 of heat 2 under the men’s
50m freestyle category.
With a time of 27.58, he will compete against Burundian and Ethiopian Teshale Girmi but he is physically calm and relaxed.
“I have competed with most the swimmers here before, its not strange” he told Daily Monitor’s Mark Namanya in London.
All eyes back home will watching his capability.
The never unending circus, fracas and bickering amongst the country’s travelling contingents has not left this team out and Mugula needs to concentrate or else, he is closer to joining Edwin Ekiring and Charles Ssekyaaya among the spectators.
