The draws for the preliminaries, first and second round match qualifiers for the third edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) were held the at the CAF headquarters in Cairo yesterday.
From the eight countries Uganda was among the four seeded countries from Central East zone along with last edition’s hosts Sudan, Rwanda and Tanzania.
The Cranes will be sure of a successive place at the local based players’ continental soccer showpiece if they beat the Taifa Stars over two legs at the first round stage of the qualifiers.
Uganda will make the trip to their opponents on June 21-23, 2013 before hosting them on the weekend of July 5-7. Burundi will play Kenya while Eritrea entertain Ethiopia in the preliminary fixtures on November 30-2 December and return legs on December 14-16 this year.
