HT: Zambia 1-0 Uganda
Uganda will need to wrestle harder if they are to earn a respectable result in their Afcon Qualifier leg in Ndola, Zambia. The Cranes trail a goal to nil against the hosts Chipolopolo at half time in the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Infront of a fully packed jubilant crowd, skipper Christopher Katongo was left unmarked by Henry Kalungi to score with six yards past Dennis Onyango on 25 minutes. The Cranes’ defence has been kept busy with Andrew Mwesigwa, Kalungi, Godfrey Walusimbi doing the donkey work.
Generally, Zambia, the reigning Afcon champions have kept the Cranes out of their back yard and have blocked out passes in the last quarter of the pitch. Bobby Williamson’s hopes of picking result can turn around if he adds another striker to Emmanuel Okwi upfront.
