SKLPS B through to playoffs

Shree Kutch Levar Patidar Samaj (SKLPS) B is still in contention for one of the two slots meant for topflight cricket next season.

They made this possible by defeated Makerere University by four and five wickets in their last two T20 encounters in the second Division of the Multiple Industries League on Sunday at Budo grounds.

Man of match Ramesh Gami’s scored 30 runs and picked four wickets in the morning game to render Andrew Nyumba’s unbeaten 47 runs useless.

In the afternoon, Makerere still won the toss and set 116 with Gerald Orumo (31), Philip Thawithemwira (27) and Viraj Patel (18) reaching double figures as SKLPS B bowlers Vinod Kerai (2/8) and Bhavesh Gorasia (2/19) shared four wickets.

SKLPS, with a lot of focus, chased and won the game after scoring 119 for a five-wicket loss. Depak Limbani stood out with 44 runs while Arvind Devji stroked 34 (not out).

The double victory lifted them to 61 points, two ahead of Mwiri who dropped to sixth.
