Defending champions Patidar Samaj will not think beyond defeat they square off with leaders Wanderers in a Multiple Industries’ Division I cricket league thriller at Lugogo on Sunday. 

Patidar lie third on log with 39 points, 13 behind the table leaders Wanderers and skipper Lawrence Ssematimba is optimistic the title race is still wide open.

“We have not lost out on our title yet,” he told Kawowo Sports.

“We want to revenge for the four wicket loss in the first round.” Ssematimba added. While Ssematimba (captain), teammates Roger Mukasa and left arm seamer Charles Waiswa helped Ugandan franchise Warriors put up an impressive performance a fortnight ago, Wanderers had 10 players who took part in the during the East African Elite tourneys.

“This is an advantage over our opponents,” Wanderers’ captain Dennis Musali said. “And we badly need this win.”
Second placed side Tornado (46) can dislodge Wanderers if they walk away with a huge positive result against Charity (34) in another anticipated game at the University Oval in Kyambogo.

Nile’s captain Martin Ondeko, Brian Masaba, Micheal Ndiko and Ivan Kakande helped Warriors reach the regional victory and could turn out to be the difference when they travel to sixth placed Rounders (21) at Jinja SS Oval.

In their fight to survive relegation, Rounders moved from bottom following their five-wicket triumph over SKLPS seven days ago. Nile are fifth with 28 points.
