
Experienced national swimmer Ganzi Mugula Semu has once again heeded to a national call as he will take part in the 11th World Swimming Championships in Istanbul, Turkey from December 12-16.
The 50 metres freestyle specialist comes into the national swimming side to replace Jamila Lunkuse, who had earlier been choosen to skipper the side, but
has withdrawn due to academic committments at Plymouth College in Great Britain,where she is undertaking a swimming scholarship.
“I have to once again represent the country just after fulfilling my duties for team Uganda at the recent Olympic games in London,” Mugula said.
Uganda’s team has debutants Catherine Noble and Joshua Ejilikubinza and Muzafaru Muwanguzi as the coach of the side.
Uganda Swimming Federation will need to dig deep to find $7,000(Sh17.4m) to participate at the world swimming competition as they are short of funds ahead of the meet.
