The pursuit of turning a resolution to a success certainly comes with lots of sacrifices.

Senior men’s cricket team head coach Martin Suji looks to try other avenues as Uganda seeks to return to the ICC (International Cricket Council) World Cricket League Division Two.

Ahead of the next international assignment, the former Kenya international dropped Mohammed Shaffique and Ronald Ssemanda from the team that finished runners-up at the Africa T20 Premier League back in February.

Davis Karashani retained the mantle and he will be deputized by Frank Nsubuga on the 14-man team that travels to Bermuda four days before the Division III clashes due April 28-May 5.

Aside from the low-lying islands located in the Atlantic Ocean, Uganda will also compete with Oman, Italy, Nepal and USA.

The team can gain promotion to the Division II and also secure a slot to the 2014 World Cup qualifier if they finish among the top two in this round robin contest.

Earning the progress turns out to be the pivotal moment for the entire cricket fraternity this year for local body Uganda Cricket Association is assured of funds from the ICC High Performance Programme.

Perhaps it would have been a different story had Uganda not lost by a single run to Papua New Guinea in UAE two years ago which confirmed relegation to this stage.
