Ndejje University Angels new signings Brian Ssentongo and Francis Tumusiime will come face-off with their previous employers Galaxy Falcons as they get their new season underway this evening at the Lugogo Arena in a Division One National Basketball League.
The two players who where not given new contracts will come face to face against last year’s finalists who started their campaign on Wednesday with a comfortable 87-51 victory over the Charging Rhinos.
“The odds are against us going into this evening’s game history has it that they are the bigger team than us and they will be looking at beating us however we have other plans for them,” Walker Obedi, the coach of the university said on phone. “We have signed a few new faces and we believe they will make us stronger this season our aim is to finish in the top four this time around.”
The Angels will line-up a side that includes national basketball player Geoffrey Soros,Tumusiime,Ssentongo and former Kyambogo Warriors player Stephen Okias.
Falcons are yet to welcome back their foreign imports that include Abdullah Ramathan from Zanzibar,Phillip Amenyi from Kenya however they will have Skipper Peter Elungat to spear head their assault in their second game others are veterans Stephen Omony,returnee Sam Obol, others are Stephen Tumwesigye and Jeffery Omondi.
In the Ladies Division One A1-Challenge will be seeking their opening win of the season against Magic Stormers.
