KIU Rangers Vs A1 Challenge 6:30pm
City Oilers Vs Falcons 8:30pm
If the start to the season is anything to go by, Falcons and City Oilers are not far apart. The difference is in wins and points scored. Falcons have won both opening games of their season schedule at nearly half strength while City Oilers have lost one, 65-68 to former champions, Dmark Power on the opening day of the season also with out the size Ramadhan Arou and Kami Kabange who had not gotten the green light to play.
For a team that just earned promotion to the national league, averaging 83.5 points makes it a force to reckon with considering the quality of players on the team. The back court of Yusuf Muhamed and Jimmy Enabu can match Falcons’ pair of Geoffrey Omondi and Abdullahi Ramadhan who is set for his first game of the season. City Oilers’ front court will face the real test from Peter Elungat who is one of the best power forwards in the league at the moment averaging 23.5 points and big man Philip Ameny who is set to return on the floor this evening as well as Steven Omony. Last year’s most supportive player, Stephen Tumwesigye who had walked on to Falcons’ starting five in Dullah’s absence may go back on the bench but his contribution will be paramount on both ends of the floor particularly in rebounding.
Falcons (2-0) have a relatively thin roster and this might affect them if City Oilers (1-1) take advantage and draw a lot of fouls to get Falcons into foul trouble. However the small size of the roster may play to Falcons’ advantage if they execute.
In the women’s division, KIU Rangers are up against A1 Challenge. Both teams are yet to register a win this season. KIU have lost to league giants, KCCA Leopards (44-70) and UCU Lady Canons (44-88) while A1 have fallen to Magic Stormers (45-61) as well as KCCA Leopards (60-76).
