Moses Magogo, the lone aspirant for the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) head post has launched his manifesto on Tuesday at Ivy’s Hotel, Wakaliga, in Kampala.

The 38 year old Electrical engineer launched the manifesto before a packed group of football delegates, press and some of his expected executive committee members.

Dubbed ‘The Next 4 years’, Magogo’s manifesto is centered along the code ‘IFET’, meaning Internal Organization, Funds, External Relations and communications, and Technical.

Speaking with composure, Magogo first commended the Lawrence Mulindwa administration, to which he has been part of as Vice President (administration) for the achievements thus far reached and promised to consolidate on those good aspects.

On what has failed FUFA, Magogo cast the blame on ‘cliques’, who worked tirelessly to frustrate Mulindwa, the limited finances and the little time span to make things happen. “Our regime would be compared to a very good student in class who answers only 8 questions of the total 10 he is supposed to answer and at the end, gets average marks because he did not finish the work”, he said.

“We would have achieved much, but we were let down by small financial muscle, cliques working to fail us and the limited time we had”, Magogo added.

He promised to be accountable to all funds received, develop youth and Women football, set performance indicators, further develop the Uganda Cranes brand, lure sponsorships, organize annual symposiums and training workshops for all football stake holders and settle wrangles that have marred the beautiful game of football in Uganda, among other things.

He introduced a few of his expected Executive members as Rogers Byamukama, Justus Mugisha, Dr. Patrick Benard Ogwel, Sam Lwere, Sam Mpiima, Mariam Kaliga and Juma Hamidi, who were all present. Rogers Mulindwa joined the team later, shortly after the launch.

Magogo is set to be officially declared the next FUFA president come August 31st at a special FUFA delegate’s general Assembly at a venue yet to be named. He is the only candidate that satisfied all the requirements necessary set by the FUFA electoral commission for the biggest football office in Uganda.

FUFA started in 1924, and the first FUFA president was Sir Daudi Chwa. It affiliated to CAF and FIFA in the years; 1959 and 1960 respectively. It is one of the many sports federations in Uganda affiliated to the National Council of Sports and Uganda Olympic Committee. FUFA has 31 members and is represented by 86 delegates at its supreme body called the FUFA General Assembly.
