Uganda 0-0 Rwanda

Uganda Cranes and Rwanda’s Amavubi are still tied at half time with no goals seen from either side in their GOtv Cecafa group C game going on at Nyayo stadium, Nairobi.

The two sides approached the game in a cautious manner and it took over the 15 minutes for the first scare of the game. Cranes started brilliantly but failed to break Amavubi organized backline as Rwanda later got the first clear opportunity of the game which Jacques Tuyishenge missed with only Benjamin Ochan to beat.

Meddie Kagere should have opened the scoring for Rwanda but opted to cross into the area when presented with an opportunity to shoot direct on goal after a good ball from Jean Baptsite Mugiraneza.

Uganda’s best opportunities in the first half fell to Geoffrey Kizito who shot over the bar on three occasions while Hamis Kiiza’s header off Brian Majwega’s good cross was saved by Ndayishimye in Rwanda’s goal for the only corner of the first half.

As it stands, Sudan who beat Eritrea in the other game of group C at Machakos lead the group but Uganda and Rwanda still have 45 minutes to make amends.
