Nile Special Premier Rugby League

Pirates v Toyota Buffaloes (Legends, 5pm)

Fridays are rare match days on the sweet calendar of the Nile Special Ruby Premier league. The day comes in handy as the G4S Pirates, one team in a desperate but serious mood to fight the looming relegation monster host the Toyota Buffaloes in a fixture that neutralists will enjoy to catch.

Toyota Buffaloes have a slight psychological edge over the opponents having won the first leg 49 – 9 and they have enjoyed a rich vein of form since the start of the new year that saw them wallop the Lira Bulls 105 without response and a 50 – 9 victory for Buffaloes over Warriors at the Legends over the Mutoni Warriors last weekend.

The Pirates on the other hand, have been on the negative side of the tide, registering back to back losses against Ezee Money Rhinos and the MTN Heathens in 10 – 27 and 13 – 35 losses respectively.

For the ardent rugby fans, it will be great opportunity to quench off the week long thirst with that Nile Special drink as the tackles and tries rule.

The neutralists will love to see several physical battles that will involve Dennis Etuket  (Pirates) against Phillip Pariyo (Buffaloes), Brian Jjemba against Eric Kasita, Alfred Bijik against Greg Lukendo.

Pirates (10 points) are 7th in the 8 team league where the bottom two will be relegated to pave way for the new league format of six clubs for the 2014/2015 season.

After the Friday curtain raiser, Saturday will present 3 fixtures, two at Legends and one across the road at the Kyadondo Rugby grounds as Home Side MTN Heathens tackles Mutoni Warriors.

Saturday, 25th January Fixtures:

Warriors v Heathens (Legends, 4:30pm)

D’Mark Kobs v Lira Bulls (Legends, 2:30pm)

Heathens v Mutoni Warriors (Kyadondo, 4:30pm)
