Final Score : Bollore Chui 10-3 Victoria Protectors

Kenyan franchise Chui truimphantly opened the 12th edition of the Bamburi Rugby Super Series on Saturday, earning a 10-3 solid victory against Ugandan rugby franchise Victoria at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.

Victoria, who will face Kenyan franchise Ndovu in next saturday’s round 2 at Kakamega, failed to notch a successful try despite several attempts, Solomon Okia missing a second half penalty.

Chui captain Duncan Ekasi raised teammates into a superior foward power, efforts that garnered him man of the match accolade.

Victoria were not at their fluent best, and often got lost in the occassional chui counter attacks.

Despite the low-key opening, Victoria coach Robert Seguya revealed that there was nothing special about Chui, his boys just fearing the Kenyan side.

“I think they just feared the Kenyan side. There was nothing about chui, i didn’t see anything special in them,” he said.

The Chui franchise that emerged first week victors will now rest next saturday 3rd May, as pool A counterparts Victoria take on Ndovu in Kakamega, Kenya at 4.00pm.
