After Zambia declined to host this year’s African netball championships, Tanzania has emerged the new host. The tournament in which the She cranes are to take part is slated for May this year.

The continental Netball governing body had attached some conditions for the country to become the next host of the event. The latter included good venues, organizing seminars for umpires, team managers and officials.

Other requirements included providing internal travels for officials of visiting teams and spacing out accommodation for visiting teams at affordable prices.
The Netball Association of Tanzania Chairperson, Anna Kibira confirmed that the competition will be held in Dar es Salaam.

The executive Committee met in the city recently and decided to host the championship. We agreed to stage the event in May on dates to be fixed later.

Anna Kibira further said that the Netball Association will meet with the government to present the matter.

We need to inform the government about the willingness to host the championship and we plan to meet them soon.

Countries are supposed to pay participation fee which will be used on paying for accommodation and allowances for umpires
