St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School – Kitende’s Executive Director, Lawrence Mulindwa has described his school’s triumph at the 2015 edition of the Copa Schools Football Tournament as ‘an important step in his life’

Mulindwa said as he welcomed the players at the school premises in Kitende from Hoima.
Mulindwa, with a jovial face, described the preparation methodology that he undertook to win this championship for the 8th time, in the 30 years it has been held.
It takes good preparations to win big championship and the players prepared really well before the championship. From the back room staff, technical and all teachers, we looked upon this success. I thank the players who played every match like a cup final

At the same welcome ceremony, Mulindwa immediately hinted on the team’s readiness towards defending the football crown that Kitende won in Dar es Salaam.
Preparations are starting now for the East African Secondary Schools games in August 2015. We need to defend our title and that is why we are starting training early
Kitende has now won the National Schools’ title 8 times, just two behind Kibuli S.S, with most honours (10).
They won in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011,2012, 2013 and now 2015.
Kitende overcame Masaka S.S 4-0 in a one sided final where Uganda National U-17 star striker, Muhammed Shaban scored a brace.
Towering forward, Alfred Leku and midfielder, Pius Mzee Wangi had the other goals on the day.
