Las Vegas based junior welterweight boxer Sharif “The Lion” Bogere’s trainer Kenny Adams, believes his fighter is the best in the 135 pound division and believes he is ready for a world title.
“He is the best fighter in this division and I strongly believe he is ready for a world title,” Kenny Adams said in a Youtube interview. “He is a great boxer and believe he can become a great champion.”
The 75 year old trainer was the first black American trainer to handle the US Boxing Olympic team that in 1988, which included Roy Jones Junior. In 2010, he was inducted into the St. Louis Boxing Hall of Fame.
Bogere, fights out of Las Vegas, Nevada and is 27-1,(19 KOs). Adams was also in Justin Juuko’s corner when he fought Floyd “Money” Mayweather in 1999, he also came to Uganda with the US army boxing team in the 80’s when they visited Jinja.
Adams has handled the late Johnny Tapia, Diego “Chico” Corrales, Nigerian heavyweight Samuel Peter, Cory Spinks, Vince Phillips just to mention.
