Junior welterweight Sharif “Lion” Bogere, is un-bothered by fighting his stablemate Michael “The Artist” Perez when they too face-off in a world title eliminiator on 11 July at the Sports Arena, Los Angeles, California.
“I am not bothered about him even though we are all under Golden Boy Promotions he should be more bothered cause he is fighting an African Lion,” Bogere bragged. “He is a good fighter so am I and am anxious waiting to go toe to toe with him in the ring.”
You would say both fighters have almost similar styles in the ring with Uganda’s Bogere, being a knockout specialist while Perez is a aggressive fighter who uses technique, power and speed with his last four fights being won by unanimous decisions while Bogere has taken out his last four opponents out by way of knockout.
The fight is a co-feature of the 10-round main event, junior welterweight contender Mauricio Herrera (21-5, 7 KOs) will face “Hammerin’” Hank Lundy (25-4-1, 12 KOs) in what appears to be a toss-up fight.
And will feature on HBO Latino and promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Bogere is currently training with his long serving trainer Kenny Adams in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bogere goes into the fight with a record that reads 27-1,(19 KOs) while Perez is 22-1(10 KOs).
