2015 Sydney Netball World Cup

7th – 16th August-Australia

A team of 15 players will reside at Materhood Hotel in Namugongo, Kyaliwajala starting Thursday and train at GEMS Cambridge International School in Luzira as they intensify their World Cup preparation which is next month.

Needing only 12 going to Sydney, the Fred Mugerwa coached side will be led by 2014 Uganda Sports Press Association Sports Personality of the Year Peace Proscovia.

The monster shooter from Loughborough Lightening in England will also be joined by other shooters in Florence Amono, Hadijah Nakabuye, Rachael Nanyonga and Stella Oyella.

The midfielders are Harriet Apako, Halima Nakachwa, Ruth Meeme, Jesca Achan, and Susan Atino.

Lillian Ajio, Florence Nanyonga, Betty Namukasa, Alice Nanteza Sempala and Martha Soigi are the defenders.

With the world cup slated for August 7-16 in Australia, The She Cranes won’t have any good test after they missed the African Championship in Botswana because of final constraints.

The team finished third behind South Africa and Malawi at the Diamond Challenge in South Africa last month, lost to both countries, and  beat Zambia twice.

Uganda, Zambia, South Africa and Malawi will be the four African countries at the World Cup.
