Kenya’s Torpedo Swimming Club and United States International School of Kenya are taking part in the first Seals Swim Club Invitational that got underway at Kampala Parents School in Naguru.

The Kenyan sides are part of the six clubs that are taking part in this invitational that brings together some of the best swimming clubs in the country and out of Uganda together for the first time in the country.

In the water itself Seals swim club swimmers Alexis Kituuka, Anthea Mudanye, Jamila Lunkuse, Katrina Ssangalyambogo Avice Meya, Mercedes Mwebeiha, of Seals Swim Club all won the respective races on the opening day of action in the four day Seals Swim Club Invitational.

Kituuka, was a winner in the girls 12 and under 50 meter breaststroke winning her race in a time of 45.34 seconds with Seals Mercedes Mwebeiha and Ssinzi Nabatanzi coming second and third respectively with times of 45.83, 46.28 in that order.

Anthea Mudanyi was winner in the Girls 13-14 Meter breastroke with a time of 38.88 while her team mates Nicole Lutalo and Katrina Ssangalyambogo was third.

National swimming star Jamila Lunkuse won her women 17 and over breaststroke in a time of 35.66 with Avice Meya and Ann Mudanye finishing in second and third respectively.

Ssangalyambogo was also winner in the girls 13-14 backstroke winning in a time of 1.32.61 with her team-mate Naome Toft was second in a time of 1.50.80

Torpedo’s Darly Anambo Anjichi was a double winner in the boys 12 and under in Freestyle and Backstroke with times of 2.54.47 and 1.35.75 respectively.

Tomorrrow’s action will see swimmers taking part in 43 swimming events. The Invitational has attracted Kenya’s Torpedo swimming club, United States International School of Kenya, Altona swimming club, Seals swimming club, Makerere University, Uganda Christian University.
